Plan your incredible Weddings and Destination Event in Udaipur
Udaipur is a city in Rajasthan, India, that was originally the capital of the Mewar Kingdom. It was founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II and is famed for its opulent royal mansions. It is constructed around a series of manmade lakes. The City Palace complex, which overlooks Lake Pichola and is known for its beautiful peacock mosaics, is a magnificent complex of 11 palaces, courtyards, and gardens.
The City Palace is located on the banks of Lake Pichola. The palace complex is divided into many beautiful villas and palaces, including Amar Vilas, Bhim Vilas, Krishna Vilas, Manak Mahal and Moti Mahal. The Mewar Light and Sound Show in the evening is also worth waiting for!
The palace is now operated by the Taj Group and offers captivating views of the Aravalli Hills.Maharaja Jagat Singh II built this amazing palace that will bowl you over with its sculpted marble and moldings. While here, you can spend all day boating on the placid Lake Pichola, commencing from Rameshwar Ghat to the City Palace.
Saheliyon Ki Bari or the Garden of the Maidens was built by Maharana Sangram Singh in the early years of the 18th century. It catered to the maids who would go with the Princess of Udaipur to her husband’s hearth (part of the dowry given by the Maharana). This place had pretty women dancing, singing and making merry and the beautiful marble elephants, fountains, a lotus pool and kiosks bear ample testimony to the richness of the time.
Lake Pichola was built in 1362 and is surrounded by beautiful architectural work. This 3-mile long lake looks more enchanting during the night when the colourful lights give it the most elite look. The lake is enveloped by palaces, temples and bathing Ghats, and is surrounded by elevated hills on all sides.
Located inside the City Palace complex of Udaipur, this temple was built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this is the largest temple built in Udaipur and its gateway can be sited at the distance of 150 meters of the City Palace. It’s a three-storied temple and two giant stone elephants welcome its pilgrims.
While here, you can pay your respects to the great warrior Maharana Pratap and his horse Chetak. Haldighati is where a severe battle was fought between Maharana Pratap and Raja Man Singh of Amber and also things to do in Udaipur.
Udaipur can be easily reached from all major cities in the region. It has the Maharana Pratap international Airport or Udaipur Airport or Dabok Airport which is just 22km east of the city
