Pushkar is a town in the northeastern Indian state of Rajasthan, abutting the Thar Desert. It's located on Pushkar Lake, a holy Hindu pilgrimage destination with 52 ghats (stone steps) where pilgrims bathe. Hundreds of temples dot the town, including the 14th-century Jagatpita Brahma Mandir, which is devoted to the god of creation and features a striking crimson spire and walls inlaid with pilgrims' silver coins.

the Aloo Baba Temple is named after a guru who used to meditate in the area.The baba was know for the simple living .The 70-year old man is known to eat just potatoes and nothing else, thereby giving the temple this name.According to his saying, potatoes can be cooked easily, and are also readily available. At times, one can even see him sitting on the 18-year old temple steps.
