About Ghaziabad Tourism

Ghaziabad is a city in Uttar Pradesh, India, that is part of the National Capital Region. With a population of 1,729,000 people, it is the administrative capital of the Ghaziabad district and the largest city in western Uttar Pradesh.Ghazi-ud-Din, a wazir in the Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah's court, created the city of Ghaziabad in 1740 A.D. and named it "Ghaziuddinnagar" after himself. With the establishment of the Railways in 1864, the name "Ghaziuddinnagar" was abbreviated to its current form, "Ghaziabad." Ghaziabad, particularly the banks of the Hindon, was a Mughal stronghold throughout the time.

Drizzling Land Water and Amusement Park

In 2005, Drizzling Land Water & Amusement Park was launched. No doubt that it is one of the best and amazing water parks located at the 8-km Mile Stone along the Delhi-Meerut Highway. Not only rides and enthusiastic adventure activities, but this amusement park also hosts an in-house DJ. Apart from magnificent pools, fountains, thrilling rides and slides Drizzling Land Water & Amusement Park also has the region's biggest roller coaster ride. The park also has a space reserved for any special bookings such as corporate events, birthdays and other such ceremonies.

Laxmi Narayan Temple

The very famous Lakshmi Narayan Temple located in the town of Modinagar in Ghaziabad. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. This Holy Temple is also known as Modi Temple, it houses idols of the Hindu deities Hanuman, Santoshi Mata, Durga, Venkateshwara, Lakshmi Narayan and Gayatri Mata. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple was built upon the Modi Industry Empire started by Rai Bahadur Gugrmi Modi in 1963. Completely structured in red sandstone, this Kalinga-styled temple also houses two smaller temples dedicated to goddess Durga and Lord Uma Maheshwar. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple also hosts as vast Ramlila stage that hosts regular performances. The temple also has fountains and brass artefacts on its front courtyard embellished in white marble. There are smaller holy sites within this temple such as the Sri Ram Darbar and the Yagyashala.

ISKCON Temple Ghaziabad

Located at the ISKCON Chowk on Hare Krishna Road, the ISKCON Temple is Ghaziabad is yet another extension of the famous Krishna-devoted ISKCON society. This temple is a significant attraction especially during the festival of Krishna Janmasthami. The temple houses various idols signifying Lord Krishna and his life. Resonating with constant Krishna songs and Bhajans, the temple carries out regular rituals such as the Govardhan Pooja.

Visit Dadri

Dadri is situated around 19 km (11.8 miles) from Ghaziabad. It is known for the world’s largest power project and is managed by the National Thermal Power Corporation. The coal fire thermal power plant generates 840 MW of electric power and 830 MW is generated by the gas-fired plant. There is two cement producing industrial level factories located here. The city played an important role in the struggle for freedom in 1857 when King Umrao Singh Bhati fought against the British. No doubt that this place is a perfect one to visit for all the history lovers.

Visit Dasna

Dasna is located around 10 km (6 mi) from Ghaziabad. The historic site was set up by the Rajput King, Salaris. The local people believe the story, of how the king arrived on the banks of the River Ganges to cure his leprosy and fell in love with the place so deeply that he constructed a fort for himself on the banks. After Salarsi’s rule, the fort and village came under the control of Ahmad Shah Abdali in 1760. You can reach this site via state-run buses.
