JPS Residency (Capital O 419 A Suites) is a mediocre hotel-cum-guest house. Except that it is on the prominent road 'Bhartendu Harish Candra Marg' opposite Shanti Mukund Hospital, Karkarduma, there is nothing good about this place.
Parking: There can be about 7-8 cars that can be parked under the covered ground floor.
Reception: The reception area is on the first floor that is approachable via a lift as well as the staircase. The area is quite open and sofa sets to sit. The receptionist shows that he will get the problems resolved at the earliest, however, he hears from one ear and forgets from the other ear.
Buffet Food: The food is just a formality. The taste is okay. They serve so late that people tend to lose their appetite by the time food reaches in instalments in the serving area. The food is prepared in an open kitchen in the parking area.
Rooms: The rooms are not at all okay. Most of the rooms have a smell of smoking or damped walls. The beds are too low in height with mattresses very old, so you feel that they touch the bed hard when you sit on them. The linen is quite old and dirty as if not washed for several days. The towels are also very dirty and old with threads coming out. The cloth of the linen and towels was of poor quality. There was no door met and dustbin in the room. The intercom is just for namesake it is not functional in any room. TV-DTH hardly works anywhere, on repetitive complaints, they manage in the room who complains them frequently. There is no provision for tea bags, coffee/milk pouches, glass or cups for self preparing tea/coffee in the room by the guests. One has to order costly tea/coffee in the room which is tasteless. The rooms do not have any lockers for keeping valuables. The door locks do not work unless one bangs them hard.
Bathroom: The doors of most of the bathrooms doesn't close, which the staff also knows but does not do anything. The taps have lots of rust on them though the fittings are of Jaquar. The shower of none of the bathrooms work and the mixer of the bathroom either gives out hot .or cold water but not mixed water.
Room Service: It is very poor. They just listen but they do not act well in time.
Overall, the property is not at all maintained and is not recommended unless there is a dire need and/or getting in a throw-away cost.
