A function was organised on 30th April 2017, at Grand Banquet and my experience was very Bitter. The service was pathetic... Starters promised were Non Veg and Veg, however it was more of Veg starters and less of Non veg starters that was served...I had to literally inform the Manager and Captain to ensure continous serving of starters.. No sequence or order while serving starters.. Very inexperienced waiters and stewards . We had to also inform that the soup was over... Also inform that additional chairs needed to be put up, I was like an acting Captain running over the place, As discussed with them, Dinner was to be ready at 10pm, however the set up was only complete by 10.15 pm, I had a few guest who left due to this delay. The Manager provided all the non Veg dishes in Chicken, hence had requested if I can order a Mutton dish separately from Outside (as it would come cheaper for me) , upon which he agreed during the time of booking . However on the event day, after when the Mutton dish arrived from the external caters, he did not allow me to keep the same. He stated reasons such as the dish is not mutton (I literally took the mutton dish to a couple restaurants in Orlem, Malad whom I know, the next day to check, and it was indeed Mutton). / He also stated that why did you not order it from our hotel. Also silly reasons that if we keep this dish for serving, we will all loose our jobs... The reason clearly seen is the owner/Chef/Manager and staff, did not want us to keep this dish as it was not ordered from their hotel. My question here was very simple, you should have just said 'No', when I had requested at the time if booking and also a day before the event, whether I could get one dish from outside... I could clearly see a lot of lies coming out from the Manager and other staff members... Food quality I would say just above average... The Manager mandatory asks you to give a tip to their staff, upon which I humbly declined for the wonderful experience he had given me that evening... I am writing this review for those people looking out for Banquet Halls to not get into such traps, and pls check and find out about the place before booking... I will strongly not recommended this place for very Obvious reasons and experience.
